Budget-Friendly Batch Cooking Workshop

Building Confidence in the Kitchen

Highlights from Our Batch Cooking Workshop

Participants joined the batch cooking workshop to meet new people and improve their basic cooking skills. Many had little experience with preparing simple meals and were eager to learn practical techniques. Their goal of gaining confidence in cooking was met during the sessions.

Throughout the workshop, attendees learned new skills, such as weighing ingredients and using basic maths in cooking. They valued the supportive and friendly group environment, which made it easy to connect with others. Although some found the paperwork challenging, the instructors provided clear guidance, making the sessions smooth and enjoyable.

Angela Bailey, the workshop tutor, described the experience as excellent and said she would happily run the workshop again. She hoped the learners had gained skills they could apply at home or in other settings.

After completing the workshop, participants reported feeling more confident in the kitchen and had started using the recipes at home. This has led to healthier eating habits, including adding more vegetables to their meals. The workshop was widely seen as a positive experience, with attendees recommending it for its focus on basic cooking skills and building community connections.

Shaydon, the course administrator, also expressed hope for more workshops in the future, offering further opportunities for people to learn, connect, and enjoy cooking together.
